Last Saturday, Say Ça! concluded the fourth phase of its tutorship and group workshops program. This semester has flown by, and our students put a lot of effort to produce an exquisite end-result — a display of their respective projects in front of the classroom. During the last few months, volunteers and students spent hours preparing, planning, and writing their final presentation. The final exhibition included the writing of a comic strip, the creation of a soccer team and various other interesting projects.
Nonetheless, some of our students chose to discuss something that was related to their culture and past experiences. As an example, consider Omran’s project — a presentation about his [family] journey to Canada. The most important objective of this assignment, was for students to create something that reflected their personal interests. All in all, those presentations exceeded expectations, given the quality of the French language showcased by our students.
Say Ça! also continued with its monthly cultural outing program. With that being said, the team visited the Notre-Dame Basilica in our very first outing of the fourth phase. Volunteers and students also enjoyed trips to the Verger Labonté Corn Maze and to the Montreal Science Center — whom we subsequently would like to thank for their hospitality and generosity.
Likewise, we advanced in the tutoring program. Our tutors prepared enjoyable activities — in French— to reinforce written and oral proficiency in that language. Ultimately, our protégés can look back and be proud of a very positive end of the year with us. Each student contributed to it, and that itself is something that they can be all proud of.
The program is scheduled to resume on the 13th of January for yet another phase. As for now, the Say Ça! team would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season!
