Anna Calderon – Executive Director
Anna is currently completing her Masters in Public Policy and Public Administration at Concordia University. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Concordia, and one in Criminology from Simon Fraser University located in Burnaby, BC. Anna has been volunteering for the last fifteen years of her life in multiple organizations, recently focusing on immigration and vulnerable populations. Anna is honoured to serve as Say Ça!’s executive director.
Sonia Khazri – Volunteer Coordinator
Sonia is in charge of Say Ça!’s volunteers. She is the link between the tutors and mentors and the staff. She deals with recruitment, training, and planning of the mentoring and tutoring sessions. Sonia did her studies in environmental project management and she is interested in education and geopolitics. Sonia is very happy to contribute and help Say Ça! grow.
Leen Makki – Student Coordinator
Leen is a freshly medical graduate from Syria. She recently moved to Montreal to continue her studies. She has done a lot of volunteer work before but what passions her about Say Ca! is seeing the students integrate into the community. Leen will coordinate everything related to the students and will work with the rest of the team to assure that they get the best and most efficient experience possible.
Abdel Elshiekh – Operations Officer
Abdel is a PhD student in neuroscience at McGill focusing on memory mechanisms in the aging brain for his research. Having moved to Canada in his teens, Abdel is well aware of the adjustment challenges that youth experience when relocating to a new country and was motivated by his own experiences to mentor our youth at Say Ca! He’s been part of Say Ca! since its inception and is now serving as Operations Officer (OF) where he oversees the internal workings of Say Ca!’s language and mentorship program, in addition to working with the rest of the staff and tutors to ensure smooth progress.
Elyssa Koepp – Events Coordinator
Elyssa is a student at McGill in Political Science and International Development. For two years now, she has been working in a tutoring center in Montreal teaching young students French. She has previously worked with an organization in Germany with a similar goal as Say Ça!’s, to help refugees with their integration process in their new country. This has helped her familiarise herself with the obstacles that they may be confronted to, and has motivated her to join the Say Ca team!. At Say Ca, she helps organize the cultural outings & community outreach events every month to help the students discover the Canadian culture and Montreal.
Samira Manfon – Development officer
Justin Park – Founder (March to December 2016)
Justin est étudiant à l’Université McGill avec une concentration en analyse d’affaires. Il a déjà acquis une expérience de mentorat et d’enseignement en tant que professeur d’alphabétisation dans les quartiers défavorisés de Los Angeles et en tant que professeur d’anglais langue seconde dans un village de la région francophone du Cameroun. Il a également réalisé plusieurs projets de subventions à jour. Par example, la campagne contre le VIH / SIDA pour la Journée mondiale du sida à Dschang, au Cameroun. Justin a une passion pour la langue et la culture, et est profondément intéressé par les questions de migration et d’intégration des immigrants et des réfugiés. Quand Justin a fondé Say Ça! avec l’aide de l’équipe Fulbright et de la communauté locale, il a envisagé un programme qui peut aider tous les réfugiés à retrouver leurs bases dès que possible dans leurs nouvelles communautés.
